STEP 14 - BONE DENSITY

Bone is living tissue. As people age, bone loses calcium and other minerals and its structure undergoes changes which can result in loss of bone tissue. Low BONE DENSITY or bone mass can leave seniors with weaker bones.

This can be due to inactivity, or hormonal changes, such as menopause in women and a gradual decrease in testosterone in men. It leaves seniors with a greater risk of fractures from a bump or a sudden fall.

As with muscles and joints, movement and exercise can prevent the onset of bone conditions. Exercise can slow the rate of bone loss and help them to stay strong. Weight-bearing exercise and exercise in water is beneficial for bones.
 
Essential Oils and products that can help maintain bone health include:

SIBERIAN FIR

The SIBERIAN FIR tree is a conifer tree native to Russia and Canada. Like other wood blends, this Essential Oil can be calming and relaxing to the body. SIBERIAN FIR is a good oil to use in massage as it is soothing to the skin.

PRACTICAL USES

  • After strenuous activity, massage into skin for soothing comfort.

  • When working through difficult circumstances at home, work, or school, diffuse Siberian Fir to help reduce stress.

  • Apply topically to skin to help soothe minor skin irritations.

  • Inhale deeply and experience the refreshing aroma.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

DIFFUSION: Use three to four drops in the diffuser of your choice.
INTERNAL USE: Dilute one drop in 4 fl. oz. of liquid.
TOPICAL USE: Apply one to two drops to desired area. Dilute with a carrier oil to minimize any skin sensitivity. See additional precautions below.

CAUTIONS

Possible skin sensitivity. Keep out of reach of children. If you are pregnant, nursing, or under a doctor’s care, consult your physician. Avoid contact with eyes, inner ears, and sensitive areas.

BONES BE GOOD, BONES BE STRONG! RECIPE

  • 5 drops WINTERGREEN

  • 3 drops FRANKINCENSE

  • 3 drops CYPRESS

  • 3 drops MARJORAM

  • 4 drops HELICHRYSUM

Add Essential Oils to a 10ml roller bottle, fill with Fractionated Coconut Oil and apply to affected area twice daily as needed. Dilute further for sensitive skin.
